“Think about the welfare of the country and citizens more than yours,” Medikal has urged President-elect John Mahama and his incoming National Democratic Congress (NDC) administration.
The rap star spoke with Nana Romeo on Accra 100.5 FM’s Ayekoo Ayekoo, Thursday, December 19, 2024.
He stressed the importance of political leaders understanding “it’s work you’ve been given to do
“They shouldn’t abuse power. They should make decisions that will benefit citizens in Ghana and not what they feel they are entitled to.”
Ghana went to the polls on December 7, in a punitive action aimed at the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP), returning former President Mahama to power, and gaining its first-ever female Vice President in the process - Prof Naana Jane Opoku-Agyemang (NJOA).
Following the highly contested elections, Medikal criticised President Nana Akufo-Addo and his administration for being draconian.
He bemoaned being jailed “without tangible reason,” after he was arrested by police and arraigned for brandishing a gun on social media.
