Maame Efua Houadjeto appointed GTA CEO

To lead the Ghana Tourism Authority (GTA), President John Dramani Mahama has appointed Mrs Marilyn Maame Efua Houadjeto.
Simply known as Maame Efua, she once served as the National Democratic Congress (NDC) Deputy Women’s Organiser. She, also, run for the party ticket to contest the parliamentary seat for Mfantsiman constituency for the 2024 elections.
Maame Efua is the CEO of the Image Consortium Group she founded in 2005.
She is an alumnus of Our Lady of Apostles (OLA) Girls Senior High School, Ghana Institute of Journalism, Ghana Institute of Management & Public Administration (GIMPA) in Ghana, and Coventry University, UK.
As a client service and marketing executive, she has worked with Charterhouse Productions, Media Touch, and StratComm Africa. For a year, she was the Acting General Manager for MPlaza Hotel.
Maame Efua’s appointment comes after GTA CEO Akwasi Agyeman resigned last week.
The GTA is one out of 13 agencies under the Ministry of Tourism, Culture & Creative Arts (MTCC), mandated to develop and foster tourism to attract local and international tourists for economic growth.
