Kinaata bids 'our dear KODA' farewell; 'you'll be dearly missed'

Highlife star Martin Kofi King Arthur, alias Kinaata, has paid his last respects to Gospel star Kofi Owusu Dua-Anto (KODA).
On Facebook, Saturday, September 21, 2024, Kinaata revealed he joined the burial service for KODA on Friday. He added photos of himself in white, noting its significance. He also showed images of the hearse that conveyed KODA's mortal remains.
"Yesterday, I joined loved ones at the burial service of our dear KODA at the KICC Dominion Center in Accra. We wore white to celebrate his glorious entry into the presence of his Maker. You will be dearly missed. Rest in Peace, KODA [fist, chill emojis] #TeamMooove," Kofi Kinaata wrote.
Both Kinaata and KODA from Takoradi, Western region.
KODA was a multi-instrumentalist, singer-songwriter, record producer and sound engineer. Per his legacy, KODA was a legend of Contemporary Gospel music in Ghana, tutoring in music, mentoring many of the stars of the Gospel genre, and cutting multiple hit records himself and others, among other things.
In the early hours of April 21, aged 45, KODA died. Though the exact cause of his death has not been revealed by his family, it is widely known the multiple award-winning artiste battled kidney disease for an extended period.
The hearse that carried KODA's mortal remains had his name on its number plate at the front and at the back, the words 'Yesu Edi Nkunim' were written. Those words echo lyrics from KODA's megahit Hosanna, while it also underlines Christian belief that Jesus Christ died and was resurrected, thus, all his followers shall equally triumph over death and spring back to life "soon".
John 11:25 records Jesus saying: "I am the resurrection and the life. The one who believes in me will live, even though they die."
