Kevin Hart mourns, eulogises father

Comic star Kevin Hart has announced the passing of his father Henry Robert Witherspoon.
Hart disclosed the sad news on his Instagram with a picture of him standing with his father.
He also attached a eulogy as caption.
“RIP [rest in peace] to one of the realest and rawest to ever do it,” the comic prayed and praised.
“Love you dad,” he noted before stating: “Gone but never forgotten.”
The 43-year-old also petitioned his father who died at 75 to: “Give mom a hug for me.”
Kevin’s mother, Nancy Hart, passed away in January 2007 after a battle with ovarian cancer. She was 56.
Acknowledging his parents both excelled in the discharge of their duties, the ‘Fatherhood’ movie star said: “Thank you [Dad] for everything,” adding: “I’m a better father because of you [crying, flexing muscles and praying emojis].”
“We will all make you proud,” he promised.
Kevin Hart has an elder brother called Robert Hart.
For much of the Hollywood star’s life, his father was absent because he was in and out of prison due to his drug addiction.
Before his death, Kevin had, however, strived to repair his broken relationship with his father.
He has been open about how this transformed how he went about fathering his children.
In a 2017 interview on the Late Show with Stephen Corbert, Hart shared: “My kids actually think I’m the coolest dad on the planet. I know why I am the way that I am, my dad has a lot to do with that – the mistakes that my dad made, you know, the decisions to do drugs, being in and out of jail, in and out of our lives.”
Kevin also disclosed Henry Robert Witherspoon, before his demise, was focused on “being the best grandparent that he possibly” could be to his four children: Heaven, Hendrix, Kenzo and Kaori.
The cause of Henry Witherspoon's death is not yet known but in 2019, Kevin had revealed on social media that his dad had lung cancer, had overcome it, "and I suppose now he has what they call COPD [chronic obstructive pulmonary disease]. It affects his breathing.”
