Two weeks ago, Mr Drew, on Accra-based 3Music TV’s Unpacking programme disclosed that he has left Highly Spiritual.
“I’m not on the label anymore,” Mr Drew said. “I’m not on Highly Spiritual Music anymore.”
Explaining, he added that: “My contract ended with them.”
“Ending of last year,” he revealed, was when the music deal ended.
Concerning joining another record label, he was positive, stressing that “if the offer is good,” he would agree. On what a good offer means, he said, “…just prioritise my work” and “come right” financially.

On why he did not renew the contract with Drew, he said: “Oh, he wants to move on and I support it.”
The legendary record producer said he cannot “be selfish to say that: ‘We’ve done five years [only] so [let’s do more].”
According to the sound engineer and church leader, Mr Drew indicated his desire to move on “about 6 months” to end of contract. He noted that Drew’s leaving “was done properly”.
He also revealed that Highlife act Krymi has also moved on after the end of his contract.
