Drake is back at No. 1 in America this week with his latest album, Some Sexy Songs 4 U. The project is a collaborative affair between the Canadian superstar and his friend and labelmate PartyNextDoor, and as the set opens in first place on Billboard’s most important ranking for full-lengths and EPs, the rapper makes history and proves that while it's been a tough several months, he's still one of the top names in the global music industry.

Some Sexy Songs 4 U earns Drake his fourteenth No. 1 on the Billboard 200. He’s just the fourth act in history to rack up that many leaders on the company's ranking of the most popular albums in the country. As he lifts from a lucky 13 to an even luckier 14 winners, he matches with some of the greatest of all time.

Drake is now tied with both Jay-Z and Taylor Swift for the most No. 1 albums among soloists. Among that trio, Jay-Z was the first to hit that sum, and Swift matched it only about a year ago with The Tortured Poets Department.

Just one musical act has claimed more No. 1s than Jay-Z, Drake, and Swift. The Beatles continue to lead all stars with 19 champions on the Billboard 200.

In its first full tracking frame of availability, Some Sexy Songs 4 U moved 246,000 equivalent album units. Streams made up almost 220,000 of those, as it's clear that fans of Drake and PartyNextDoor rushed to platforms like Spotify and Apple Music to listen to the latest from the superstars.

Some Sexy Songs 4 U brings PartyNextDoor to the top spot on the Billboard 200 for the first time. He's collected an additional three top 10 placements, including PartyNextDoor 3, which continues to hold as his highest-rising win. That project, which was released in 2016, stalled at No. 3 on the Billboard 200.

The just-dropped Some Sexy Songs 4 U marks Drake’s first album in more than a year. He last delivered a full-length in the fall of 2023 with For All the Dogs. That turned out to be thirteenth winner on the Billboard 200 and his most recent ruler until now.

In between those two complete albums, Drake dropped the 100 Gigs EP. The set didn’t chart, as it only ran three songs and a little over 15 minutes long, though he did find some success with a number of the tunes featured on the very short collection.
