Chris Brown sues Warner Bros and producers for $500m over documentary sexual assaults claims

Chris Brown has filed a $500m defamation lawsuit over a documentary which featured allegations of sexual assault.
The US singer shared details in a statement from his lawyers, posted on social media, which announced he was suing Warner Bros and producers Ample, along with other individuals.
It comes following the Chris Brown: A History Of Violence documentary, which was released in October last year.
The lawsuit, seen by Sky News, accuses producers of airing a programme that was "full of lies and deception" after being "provided proof that their information was false".
Allegations by a woman referred to as Jane Doe in the documentary have been "discredited over and over", lawyers for Brown say in the court filing.
Brown, 35, has "never been found guilty of any sex related crime... but this documentary states in every available fashion that he is a serial rapist and sexual abuser", they add.
The singer has publicly acknowledged his "past mistakes" and addressed them in his own documentary, Chris Brown: Welcome To My Life, released in 2017, the lawsuit says.
"This case is about protecting the truth," said Levi McCathern, Brown's attorney, in a statement shared on social media. The documentary included "false and defamatory" information, he added, "undermining Mr Brown's decade-long efforts to rebuild his life" and also "the credibility of true survivors of violence".
If Brown is successful, he intends to donate "a portion" of the $500m to survivors of sexual abuse, the statement said.
The lawsuit was filed at LA's superior court on Tuesday, lawyers said.
In 2009, the Freaky Friday singer pleaded guilty to assaulting his then girlfriend Rihanna.
Sky News has contacted Warner Bros and Ample for comment.
