Music legend Amanzeba Nat Brew has confidently said in view of president-elect John Mahama of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) being “dynamic and promising,” he will not disappoint Ghana as he returns to the Jubilee House.
“We'll not get it wrong with the choice we've made,” he emphasised, speaking to Joy FM, having witnessed Mr Mahama’s acceptance speech.
The Electoral Commission (EC) Chairperson Jean Mensa declared the NDC’s Mahama the winner of the 2024 presidential elections on Monday, December 9, while Ghana went to the polls on Saturday.
Amandzeba acknowledged there was a “barrel of expectations” placed on the incoming NDC administration.
He said there were “huge problems” faced by Ghana which were “caused eight years ago” when the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP) led by Mr Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo won power from Mr Mahama and the NDC.
Yet, he emphasised he was sure the comeback of NDC and Mahama would “take it easy and ride us home”.
The Ghana Music Awards Board Chairman said “getting back the loot money and stuff like that,” was high up on his list of expectations.
He encouraged Ghanaians to “help him [Mahama] make his four years [successful]”.
