GRIDCo plans 'dumsor' as 2 towers on 330kV Aboadze-K'si transmission collapse

Power transmitter Grid Company Limited (GRIDCo) has said it is planning a load management programme following the collapse of two of its towers.
GRIDCo, in a statement issued on Wednesday, 10 November 2021, said at 15:40 GMT on Tuesday, 9 November 2021, a communication mast collapsed and fell on the 330kV Aboadze-Kumasi Transmission Line, resulting in the collapse of two adjacent towers.
The incident happened near Bogoso in the Western Region.
“This has affected the national power system and may result in some load management”, GRIDCo announced.
GRIDCo said it is “working around the clock to replace the fallen towers within the shortest possible time”.
The company said it is “committed to maintaining a stable network for reliable and efficient power delivery”.
“We apologise for any inconvenience caused”.
