Decathlon promises more jobs with new expansion
The Chief Executive Officer of Decathlon Ghana, Mr Geoffrey Fadoul, has announced that the company's expansion will generate more jobs for Ghanaians during the re-opening of their new retail centre at West Hills Mall in Accra.
Speaking to the media on October 12, 2024, Mr Fadoul outlined Decathlon's mission: "Our goal is to make sportswear accessible to everyone in Africa, starting with Ghana."
He added, "We aim to promote the activities and joy of sports.
Part of our expansion plan is to reach every region in Ghana, which will lead to significant job creation."
Mr Fadoul revealed that Kumasi will host their next retail centre, marking their first store in the Ashanti Region.
"From this location, our next stop will be in Kumasi," he said.
Dignitaries at the event included the French Ambassador to Ghana, Jules Armand Aniambossu, the Decathlon board of directors, the media and shoppers.
Decathlon Ghana offered 20% off on all purchases made on the day of reopening along with free backpacks for the first 50 customers and a chance to participate in a Spin The Wheel.
This offer was a way to show appreciation to the community and help start their sports and fitness journeys with Decathlon’s products.
The West Hills Mall store is Decathlon’s third location in Ghana in addition to the Kawukudi Branch, Junction Mall and an online store, expanding its reach to more sports enthusiasts.
The new store features Decathlon’s range of products for over 50 sports, from cycling, football, and running to hiking, swimming, and more
