12th Annual Ghana garden and flower show set to promote sustainable living and food security
Strategic Communications Africa Ltd. (Stratcomm Africa) has announced the 12th Annual Ghana Garden and Flower Show, scheduled to take place from Sunday, 22nd September to Sunday, 29th September 2024, at the Efua Sutherland Children's Park in Accra.
This year’s event, themed "GREENOVATION: Green the Nation, Feed the Nation, Grow the Nation," will focus on the crucial link between environmental conservation, food security, economic empowerment, and green innovation.
The week-long event will feature a diverse range of activities designed to highlight the importance of sustainable practices in horticulture, floriculture, and agriculture.
Key attractions include an eight-day exhibition showcasing a variety of gardening and agricultural products, the Green to Riches Conference aimed at encouraging youth participation in green business opportunities, and expert-led masterclasses on sustainable gardening and environmental conservation.
Additionally, the event will offer the "Little Green Fingers" workshops to engage children in environmental stewardship through interactive activities.
The show will also host the Israeli Green Innovation Competition (IGIC), alongside other entertaining and educational activities such as Drama Night and Music Night, catering to attendees of all ages.
Ms. Esther A. N. Cobbah, Chief Executive Officer of Stratcomm Africa and President of the Institute of Public Relations (IPR) Ghana, emphasised the broader mission of the show.
“The Ghana Garden and Flower Show has always been more than an event; it is part of a movement for a greener, more sustainable future,” she said.
Ms. Cobbah highlighted that the event aligns with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (UNSDGs), particularly in addressing climate action and food security challenges.
“This year’s theme, 'GREENOVATION: Green the Nation, Feed the Nation, Grow the Nation,' also embodies the essence of Stratcomm Africa’s existence for 30 years.
