Oti: Asamoah Gyan rolls out All Regional Games to discover talents nationwide, foster unity
Ghana’s ex-captain of the national football team and top leading goal scorer Asamoah Gyan has set in motion the maiden All Regional Games, a multi-discipline sporting event aimed at unearthing talents across the country for future competitions.
As part of regional engagements, the All Regional Games (ARG) train landed at the Oti Region to discover talents, sparking a wave of excitement and anticipation as they kicked off the Torch Relay, marking the beginning of festivities leading up to the highly anticipated ARG kickoff.
The Torch Relay, which is a symbolic gesture of unity and sportsmanship was witnessed through the vibrant streets of the Oti Region amidst jubilation from residents. From Oti Radio to GBC Radio, and the Regional Coordinating Council, the ARG team engaged with community stakeholders to brief them about their vision.
Mr Daniel Machator, the Regional Minister for the Oti Region, welcomed the ARG delegation with open arms, embracing the many opportunities the All Regional Games presents to the region.
“We are very excited about this development and how Ghana’s Asamoah Gyan has thought about the Oti region to bring this competition here. The region aside its rich tourism potentials has great talents and potentials needed for various sporting activities for the national team,” he noted.
The All Regional Games team also extended their gratitude to the Regional Police Command for their assured assistance and commitment to ensuring the safety and success of the games.
The Torch Relay earned an overwhelming support from the residents of the Oti Region, who poured out in numbers to join the legendary Asamoah Gyan and pledge their backing for the upcoming All Regional Games.
Asamoah Gyan on his part assured of supporting and investing in talent development in the Oti region.
“I believe there are more Asamoah Gyans and great talents who have not been discovered yet for the national development. That is the reason the All Regional Games is in the region,” he said.
