Dec 7 polls: Let’s stay united, do away with internal disputes – Asiedu Nketiah to NDC members
The National Chairman of the main opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC), Johnson Asiedu Nketiah, has urged party stalwarts to set aside internal disputes over potential positions in Mahama's prospective administration, stressing the importance of prioritising victory in the 2024 general elections over personal ambitions.
Mr Nketiah warned against complacency, particularly in light of favourable poll results, cautioning that internal conflicts could dampen enthusiasm among supporters and hinder electoral success.
"Because we’re convinced that we are there, a lot of people have begun taking positions and fighting over who will be what in the next government.
"If we’re not careful, this will dampen the enthusiasm and the spirit of our followers. Don’t be fighting about positions, and don’t be talking about who will make appointments," the NDC National Chairman said.
He emphasised the necessity of unity within the party, highlighting the detrimental effects of internal disagreements on their electoral prospects.
"Let’s all go for the hunting first and when we kill the game we can now argue about sharing of the meat," he added.
The NDC Chairman was speaking during the outdooring of the party’s running mate, Professor Jane Naana Opoku-Agyemang on Wednesday, 24 April 2024, at the Kofi Ohene Konadu Auditorium at the University of Professional Studies, Accra (UPSA).
