NDC begins vetting of MMDCE aspirants in Ashanti Region

The National Democratic Congress (NDC) has commenced interviews for aspirants seeking to serve as Metropolitan, Municipal, and District Chief Executives (MMDCEs) in the Ashanti Region.
The selection process, aimed at identifying competent and visionary leaders for local governance, has drawn significant interest from party members across the region.
Over three days, a total of 343 applicants from all 43 metropolitan, municipal, and district areas will undergo vetting by the selection committee.
The first day of the exercise focuses on 11 MMDAs, with 88 aspirants being assessed on their capabilities.
Regional party executives have stressed the importance of selecting leaders who align with the NDC’s development agenda and can drive progress at the grassroots level.
Aspirants are expected to demonstrate a deep understanding of the socio-economic challenges in their districts and propose practical solutions in areas such as job creation, infrastructure development, sanitation, education, and healthcare.
The NDC sees this exercise as a crucial step in ensuring effective local governance and strengthening the party’s commitment to national development.
