Dec. 7 polls: Three more Presidential hopefuls submit nominations

The race for the December presidential elections has intensified as three additional candidates formally submitted their nomination forms, bringing the total number of contenders to 19.
Among them are Bernard Mornah, the Presidential candidate of the People's National Convention (PNC), independent aspirant Desmond Afrifa, and Dr. Daniel Lartey Jnr, the flagbearer of the Great Consolidated People’s Party (GCPP).
Following the submission of his nomination at the Electoral Commission's headquarters in Accra, Mr. Mornah expressed confidence in the PNC's ability to make a significant impact in the upcoming elections.
"We are prepared to offer a fresh perspective and a credible alternative for Ghanaians," he stated.
Desmond Afrifa, an independent candidate, outlined his strategy for tackling some of Ghana's pressing challenges, pledging to employ the military to combat illegal mining and create jobs for the youth if elected president.
"Our nation's resources must be protected, and our young people must be given opportunities," Mr. Afrifa asserted.
Meanwhile, Dr. Lartey of the GCPP called on the Electoral Commission to conduct the December polls with "integrity, sincerity, and honesty," stressing the importance of a fair election for the health of Ghana's democracy.
"A transparent electoral process is vital to maintaining the trust and confidence of the people," he emphasised.
