Police probe ransacking of Ursula Owusu's home, office after election loss
The Ghana Police Service has initiated an investigation into the ransacking of the home and office of Ursula Owusu-Ekuful, Member of Parliament for Ablekuma West and Minister for Communications and Digitalisation, following her defeat in the 2024 general elections.
Reports suggest that unidentified individuals broke into her residence and office shortly after the election results, causing considerable damage. Social media footage shows the aftermath, with scattered documents and overturned furniture, highlighting the extent of the destruction.
The motive behind the attack is yet to be determined, but it has raised concerns about the safety of political figures in the wake of the elections.
In response, the police have condemned the act and assured the public that they are actively working to identify the perpetrators.
They have also called on anyone with information to come forward and assist with the investigation.
In a related development, the police have dismissed claims that the NPP office in Kasoa was vandalised, urging the public to disregard such false reports.
