Accra: 2024 ban on drumming and noise-making begins today
The Accra Metropolitan Assembly (AMA) has announced the commencement of the one-month ban on drumming and noise-making.
The period commences from today, Monday, 6 May 2024, to Thursday, 6 June 2024.
In the interest of peace and harmony and national security, the AMA in a statement, noted that “churches are expected to carry out their activities within their premises and refrain from the use of musical instruments.”
Also, there is a ban on the use of loudspeakers outside the premises of churches, mosques and pubs and roadside evangelists are “to cease their activities during this period”.
The AMA also urged Religious leaders and traditional authorities to show respect for one another and restrain their followers from “making derogatory remarks about the beliefs and practices of one another.”
