Bono: Heavy rainstorm destroys SDA JHS and Primary school in Bechem

A severe rainstorm has caused extensive damage to the SDA Junior High and Primary School in Bechem, located in the Tano South Municipality of the Bono Region.
The incident, which occurred on March 27, 2025, between 3:30 and 4:00 pm, left the roofing sheets of the JHS block and parts of the primary classrooms destroyed.
Mr. Prince Agyemang Dua, Public Relations Officer for the Ghana Education Service (GES) in Tano South, confirmed the incident and expressed concern that the destruction would disrupt teaching and learning in the coming days.
He appealed to the general public and Parent Teacher Associations (PTAs) to support the school in restoring the damaged infrastructure.
Mr Joseph Appiah, Assemblyman for the area, also called for immediate intervention to repair the damaged structures, emphasizing the need to ensure the continuation of academic activities.
He urged local authorities and stakeholders to take urgent measures to address the situation.
