MP supports 232 apprentices with startup kits at Apenkwa to combat unemployment

In a bid to tackle unemployment in the Okaikwei Central Constituency of the Greater Accra Region, the Member of Parliament, Mr Patrick Boamah has supported 232 apprentices with startup kits at a ceremony held Thursday.
The event, organised in partnership with the Ghana Enterprise Agency and the Mastercard Foundation under the Bizbox project, provided essential tools to help beneficiaries launch their careers.
The apprentices, who were trained in diverse vocational skills such as cosmetology, hairdressing, make-up, welding, dressmaking, bakery, electricals, auto mechanics, and upholstery, received items including sewing machines, hair dryers, ovens, gas cylinders, and welding and fabrication equipment.
These tools are intended to help the recipients kick-start their businesses and contribute to reducing unemployment in the constituency.
The event was attended by several notable figures, including the CEO of the Ghana Enterprise Agency, Mrs. Kosi Yankey-Ayeh; Chief Alhaji Sule, the Moshie Chief of Abeka; Rev. Philip Nii Annan Esq., Resident Pastor of Apenkwa Presbyterian Church; and constituency executives.
Staff from the Ghana Enterprise Agency were also present to support the programme.
Speaking at the ceremony, Mr Boamag emphasised the goal of empowering the youth by providing them with the necessary resources to succeed in their chosen professions, thereby addressing the unemployment challenge in the community.
