Otumfuo destools 2nd chief in less than a week
Asantehene Otumfuo Osei Tutu II has destooled his Nkonsonhene, who doubles as the Chief of Aduamoah, Nana Osei Tiri Ababio.
He was destooled on Monday, 14 August 2023, during the sitting of the Kumasi Traditional Council at the Manhyia Palace.
Nana Tiri was found guilty of multiple counts of charges, including flouting Otumfuo's orders and disregarding traditions among others.
He is the second Chief in the Asante Kingdom to have been destooled within four days by Asantehene.
On 10 August 2023, the Asantehene destooled Bekwai-Abodomhene, Nana Saforo Koto, who was found guilty of about 20 charges including selling lands to galamseyers.
Announcing the chief's destoolment, Otumfuo said he had spared him on many occasions and was expecting him to change but he did not.
