GTA launches Ghana Feast campaign
The Ghana Tourism Authority (GTA), under the auspices of the Ministry of Tourism, Arts and Culture (MOTAC), on Wednesday, April 17, 2024, at the Accra Tourist Information Centre (ATIC) launched the Ghana Feast campaign to promote Ghanaian cuisine.
This initiative, in collaboration with the Ministry of Food and Agriculture, the Asanteman Queen Mothers Association, and the Public Service Workers Union of the Trades Union Congress (PSWU of TUC), marks a significant event aimed at promoting local foods and showcasing the nation's diversity.
Mr. Kofi Atta Kakra Kusi, Deputy Director for Domestic Marketing at Ghana Tourism, shared insights into the event.
He highlighted the participation of various regions' ladies' clubs, with men supporting their efforts.
The showcase includes displays of regional specialities and staff from all regions, emphasizing the country's cultural richness.
A cooking competition featuring dishes from across the country is also part of the agenda.
Notably, the event serves as a platform to launch Feast Ghana, a campaign highlighting the culinary delights of Ghana.
The initiative aims to spotlight local dishes from all 16 regions, showcasing the country's gastronomic diversity.
This launch sets the stage for the main event on May 1st, where the entire nation will come together to experience and celebrate Ghanaian cuisine.
Additionally, Mr. Kusi mentioned the GTA's domestic tourism campaign, emphasizing the importance of promoting tourism within the country.
This initiative aligns with the broader efforts to revitalize the tourism and hospitality sector under the Ghana Cares Obatanpa project, he concluded.
