UPSA appoints Prof Mensah Mawutor as next Vice-Chancellor
The University of Professional Studies, Accra (UPSA) has appointed Professor John Kwaku Mensah Mawutor as its next Vice-Chancellor, effective January 1, 2025.
Professor Mawutor, previously serving as Pro-Vice-Chancellor at UPSA, brings over seventeen years of expertise in Accounting and Finance, bridging academia and the financial sector.
Prof Mawutor has been an Associate Professor of Accounting.
He has engaged in university governance and focused his research on capital flight in Ghana and Sub-Saharan Africa, advocating anti-corruption.
His leadership extends beyond academia, having served as Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors of Abokobi Area Rural Bank and as a Coastal Development Authority board member.
Professor Mawutor holds a Doctor of Finance degree from SMC University (Swiss), a Master's degree from Wisconsin International University College (Ghana), and professional certification from the Institute of Chartered Accountants, Ghana.
He has made significant contributions to scholarly discourse through publications in indexed journals and presentations at conferences, alongside participating in national conversations through media engagements.
